Quick note to let everybody know that Ghostbusters, one of the great New York movies, is again screening specially in New York City. It’s been showing at midnight all weekend at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema on Houston, using a new 35mm print. For the people who don’t know about film technicalities, that last detail just means that the movie will look fresher, cleaner, and larger than usual – all the more reason to check it out this weekend.

The reason why there’s been such heightened Ghostbusters activity this year is that it’s (yikes!) the movie’s 25th anniversary. That’s why that long-rumored video game finally happened, why those Ghostbusters 3 rumors have gotten so hot again, and why you can assuredly expect more screenings in New York City before the year is out – especially as we lurch closer to the Halloween season.

And as always, keep an eye trained on this space for future news and celebrations of this unusually timeless classic – it holds a special place in my heart, as it does for so many cool people.
