Adequately Priced West Village Bars

So cheesy, so devoid of free stuff. So crowded, so college-y.

A shame the only vaguely affordable bars in this neck of the woods require a tolerance for endlessly deafening music and stentorian people. ‘Tis terrible NYU students who can’t find anywhere cooler go en masse to the likes of Down the Hatch, Kettle of Fish and that one with the games on Christopher Street.

But wait. I shouldn't complain. Congenial colloquy and a crowded fratty atmosphere are fine for some. Spending money is perfectly acceptable and sociably appropriate when you are not poor, cold and hungry.

But I am all of those things. And so I will bring my own liquor and a sandwich to your adequately priced West Village bars and pray I don’t get smacked by a propriety-respecting bouncer.
