My Kingdom for a Greengrocer

I love greengrocers, and the stock they vend. You’ll never happen upon a greengrocery that doesn’t have greens. They don’t run out. They grow them in the store. Greengrocers are magical manipulators of earth. They carry fruits, vegetables, segments of cellophane, canned beans, Mexican cheese, pounds of tortillas and rice. Or maybe that’s just my greengrocer. But I must view the world through the lens of myself.

 

My greengrocer is open 24 hours. Whenever I’m in the mood for salad, I know my appetites are safe to be sated! The greengrocer I frequently patronize is run by Hispanics, so they sell plantains and Swiss Miss vanilla pudding. However, the greengrocery I go to less frequently is run by Koreans so they sell kimchi and bundles of asparagus. See what I’m saying? A greengrocer has it all! Always there when I call, always on time… always cheaper than a supermarket. Huzzah.
