War Eagle!
Geeking out and getting excited to learn more about the NYC council came to an annoyingly slow halt. Like when a car starts puttering, the RPMs go way up despite zero change in velocity and you know at any moment you might find yourself stuck. Well, that is a metaphor for what I experienced just moments ago. Actually, a simile, because I used the word “like”.
As a new New Yorker, I've been doing my best to learn as much as I can about this quaint little (305 square miles) Dutch village. So far I've had a lot of questions about the most populous city in the US, and frankly, I've been shocked to encounter numerous natives with the naϊveté of a novice...sorry. I can understand not knowing street names or subway stops outside of your usual route to and from home, work or school BUT there is absolutely NO excuse to be completely directionless. Find your orientation people! It's easy. Just look up, there's a HUGE compass in the sky.
