I love Gypsys Trattoria Italiana not just because its cheap, but their food is quite delicious, great portions. and served hot hot hot, it was steaming. Oh yeah, you have to see the calzone, it might be bigger than a nerf football. You cant go wrong with Gypsys Trattoria and you can even hit up Kingpin Donut for dessert...quite possibly the best combo in all of Berkeley.
Okay, so this is obviously a hotly debated issue, and I am positive you already have some spot in your neighborhood that you're "totally crazy about," but Dominic Di Marco of Di Fara Pizzeria in Midwood IS the god of pizza, and his pies are legendary, as is his story. Native to this fair city, i have had my fair share of the pizza pie. I have enjoyed Pizzas of both the standard issue, and the hallowed huts of cuilinary perfection sprinkled about the city landscape (Grimaldi's, John's of Bleecker, the og Rays on spring st.
For the most part in the literary world, it is not always recommended to write in the first person when reviewing restaurants or the like, however, my experience of this particular encounter was so poignant and forever etched into my memory in the ‘romantic encounters’ segment of my mind, that I will give myself the liberty, just this once, to speak from my personal experience. And after-all, a special occasion, such as a one-year wedding anniversary, gives one the autonomy, not to mention the romantic inclination to speak only for themselves.
