Have you ever had a smart idea but lacked the money to get it started?   A interactive site called Kickstarter is a platform where you pitch a idea that needs funding and invite people to donate.  The key is that you don't see a dime of the money until the project is fully funded and you have a limited time to encourage people to support your idea.  You don't see a dime until it is fully funded because it manages expectations and sharpens your pitch if it is unsuccessful.  The site founders collect a 5% fee of the project's total dollars.

Members representing the United States Chamber of Commerce to the American Bankers Assocation are busy lobbying Congress this week trying to fight proposed financial regulations as to how banks do business and against the creation of a Consumer Agency to regulate financial products.

There are reforms that go into effect this week concerning credit cards and overdraft charges, presented by the Federal Reserve, but they are tame, and probably won't alter too much how they make $20 billion dollars from debt and overdraft fees.

I was browsing the stacks in East Village bookstore one year and came across this treasure, Hittleman's Yoga in 28 Days Exercise Plan.  It is clever, and takes you through a series of Yoga poses, a new one each day, with a short, thoughtful paragraph on something to consider about your lifestyle and diet.  Some days you do several of the excercises in combination, and after the month is completed, you carry on with a three day routine that rotates sets of exercises.  I have returned to this bible again and again, and would highly recommend finding a copy.  The m
