The hierarchy of stardom for the cast of Mean Girls has not turned out the way that anyone could have expected. Rachel McAdams, despite headlining a couple smaller movies and co-starring in the recent Sherlock Holmes, hasn’t turned out yet to be as big a deal as everyone seemed to think she would be, while the little girl from Party Of Five grew up to be a total knockout, but that hasn’t translated into any kind of significant film career. And let’s not even get into the case of Lindsay Lohan.
So somehow, it’s Amanda Seyfried who is a big star now, with a new movie out this weekend that looks exactly like an Under The Tuscan Sun for juniors. I’ve got nothing at all against Amanda Seyfried, and I thought she was good in Jennifer’s Body, but when it comes time to considering her hotness, I get a little uneasy. (Even more uneasy than realizing how hot the little girl from Party Of Five turned out to be.)
The reason for the uneasiness is pretty clear if you think about it, and by doing a quick side-by-side Google search of two names, I learned that I’m not the only one who sees it:
