What you first notice on approaching the Waterpod, a self-sustaining ecotopia on a barge is a riot of vegetation and a giant white geodesic dome that would have made Buckminster Fuller, one of Americas most original thinkers, proud. The Waterpod is created by a group of local artists who are living on the barge for as long as they can. The geodesic dome is covered in recycled PVC coated mesh advertisements you normally see showcasing the latest Calvin Klein jeans draped on buildings around the city. Inside the dome is a seating area made from recycled packing foam.
